Severn Vale Flower Club

Severn Vale Flower Club (the local afternoon flower club) is a friendly informal group of people who get together at least once a month to enjoy and learn about flower arranging and floral art.

Our main meetings are held mostly, on the second Monday in the month at St Marys Hall, Eastbury Close, Thornbury, BS35 1DR at 2pm. The focus of these meetings is a flower arranging demonstration, usually by a guest demonstrator which is followed by a raffle of the beautiful floral designs created, together with the opportunity to chat to other members over tea, coffee & biscuits.

We are affiliated to both the Three Counties & South Wales Area of the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies (NAFAS) www.tcandsw.org.uk & NAFAS www.nafas.org.uk itself. So in addition to getting involved in our Club flower and social events, members have the opportunity to attend, & sometimes participate in, local, area & national demonstrations, flower festivals & competitions.

The Club runs practice classes with a different theme each month. Members bring flowers and foliage to make their own arrangements, (both with and without floral foam), with a tutor on hand to give practical help & advice. Members then have the opportunity to put their learning into practice by entering our monthy competitions & participating in events further afield, such as flower festivals.

Contrary to popular belief you don’t have to be a flower arranger to join us (although you may become one). All you need is a love of flowers or a general interest in gardening. We are a friendly bunch of people who make newcomers welcome, so whether you come to our meetings as a member or as a visitor, alone or with friends, we will be pleased to see you.
